Posts Tagged ‘Spirit’

The last entry that I posted I was discussing looking at the Self. The Self is the higher or spiritual conscience that is eternal and ever present. All of us incarnates, that is spirit in physical form, have the continual push and pull of the physical rubbing against the spiritual. It is not the spirit that has a problem with the physical as the spirit has all the understanding that the physical is not truly there. The Bhagavad Gita states it best in Chapter 2, Verse 12-13;

“Certainly never at any time did I not exist, nor you, nor all these kings and certainly never shall we cease to exist in the future.”

“Just as in the physical body of the embodied being is the process of childhood, youth and old age; similarly by the transmigration from one body to another the wise are never deluded.”

When it is stripped down to its simplest terms the spirit experiences and the body is the vessel of this experience. It is simple yet goes against what a lot of people believe as true. Since most cannot feel the spirit at any given time they tend to believe that the spirit is beyond their reach. These people do not have a spiritual life that takes in meditation, observation of nature, and a deep questioning of their surroundings. Most people are all about thinking about what they do not have and of course plugging into the dark magic that is pumped out from newspapers, television, and a lot of the Internet. Dark magic in this case is the how these outlets tell you how to think, act, and most cases judge your fellow human. It is dark because it controls, manipulates, dulls, and puts you in a corner of negativity that you are convinced that you have to act in a specific way. It is magic because it works on your emotions and mind to bring about a specific effect. In this case the effect is your lack of choice.

Some would argue that advertisement is the opposite, that it is giving you more choices. Advertisement is telling you to buy this or be this because it makes you socially better or it will make you live longer because this is a “healthy item”. Just before we got rid of cable TV services into the house Gaby and myself would comment on the commercials that were being aired during the news. These commercials showed the demographics of the audience. They could not sleep, were depressed, diabetic, overweight, high cholesterol, and could not march their little man in the bedroom. Not one of these commercials showed what the underlining causes of these problems are.  More choices indeed!

So how do commercials and spirit tie into each other? The answer is that the spirit becomes conditioned and then becomes the mind. So the mind thinks that it is acting through the body, controlling it so to speak. What we take in from the senses act as conditioners so as long as we think that we are the sense organs. This is to say that we think that we are the body. When we detach the Self from the body we gain a proper perspective of our relationship with the body with that relationship being nothing more than a vessel. Just as your vehicle needs tending and care, so does the body. Without that care and maintenance the body falls into a state of disrepair that will shorten your experience in the material.

So choose wisely embodied ones and always remember that you have a choice. That choice is not always yes or no, right or wrong. This is a three dimensional realm and all of our choices should be made from a three dimensional perspective. Take a 360 degree look around yourself before you make those judgments and decisions to fully see where you are in this life. Once that is done you can make the most evolutionary decision for your Self at that moment.

There are times in one’s life that their destiny is staring at them directly. This has been happening to me for some time now, yet I am a master of self delusion when it comes to facing my spiritual destiny. The delusion comes in the form of creating distractions to hide, more like attempt to hide, the very powerful message that is slapping me in the face. A lot of this delusion comes from fear of accepting me as the Self.  There is a deep fear that I am not worthy of the honor of the manifestation of my spirit in my material form. Of course this is totally unfounded as the Self has chosen this form and this time to bring about the work that spirit needs to do.

So what are the chains that are holding me in myself imposed prison? The first thing that comes to mind is the continual conditioning of society that states that you should not be thinking about these higher ideals. You are a person that makes mistakes and you are neither an enlightened being nor a master in physical form so it is impossible for you to attempt this lofty goal of embracing the Self. Another link in the chains of self imprisonment is what I went through being a very sensitive child in a large family. This was very overwhelming to me as I had no idea how to process all the emotions and social interactions that were going on. It is this point of being emotionally overwhelmed that really hits the mark.  As I write this entry of self discovery, I now understand that this is the base, the foundation, of what I fear. The over load of emotions that crashes down on me as a wave would crash into the rocks. In a way I feel like that rock, yet as the wave pass it remains. An exciting answer to my problem is to be like that rock. Let the emotion crash over you and feel that emotion yet remember that you are founded in Spirit and no emotion can change that.  When that is remembered then I cannot be washed away.

I would very much like to thank my wonderful wife Gabriele. Your insights yesterday have helped to look at myself and embrace what I am. I love you very much and I appreciate your wisdom and personal insights.

Holding the asp in my hand, terrified in letting it go and terrified in holding it, scared of the burning of the twin fangs piercing skin.

Cold, calculating, yet burning with a deep seated anger that is directed to the asp in my hand.

The flicker of the asp’s tongue moves in indifference, in, out, up, and down with it’s eyes staring into my very soul challenging me to act.

Torch light casts half world shadows on the glossy scales echoing the rhythmic breathing of the folly that I hold in my hand.

Copper colored brown scales flicker with a destructive beauty that mesmerizes the intellect and speaks to the primal rages within the breast.

Rage that burns and plunges my emotions into a lake of fire and shorts my intellect; rage that engulfs my being and cuts my divinity from the gods in two.

Action that was swift and destructive ensues as the asp was cast from my presence and into the shadows of the neither that dance in awkward suggestive trance like moves.

It was a dance that was danced before as the last vestibules of light sputter and are extinguished as the torch of spirit is plugged into the ice water of rage.

As the light returns to the plains of emotion all that is shown is the charred rendered earth. The cracked and blackened emotional body pops and hisses as the fires of rage consume its last portions of fuel. The twin bite marks of the asp clearly showing on the burnt forearm.

When the moon traverses Leo you do not plant and you do not water. During this transit one either plows or weeds. It is this very act of plowing and weeding that I am going to do on my spiritual state. The weeds that I am pulling are the weeds that are clogging my connection to spirit. These weeds are symbols of the stagnant emotions that are not moving and becoming stale and foul smelling. What are these stagnant emotions? The emotions of fear, anger, and anticipation are the three emotions that are being felt.

As I have stated in previous entries the ability to have faith is the strongest, yet to me, seems to be the most fragile of states to maintain. This is exactly the state that I am in, the state of fallen faith. How did I lose this most precious state that has caused me to live in frustration and border despair? Like so many things in our lives I tripped in the middle of running the race and have been attempting to get my balance back. This of course is not a physical trip in a physical race. The race that I am talking about is the race that all people are in the middle of; the race of day to day existence in the western world. Yet this race is not mine to run. I have tripped from my dedication to spirit and fell into the day-to-day race and then tripped again. Very much like a slapstick movie I have been falling from one state to another.

Just as a good gardener identifies the weeds from the flowers I have identified that I am in a state of illusion caused from me not looking at the Divine Spirit that holds all of us. This act of looking away has caused the rapid growing weeds of negativity to jump into my spiritual garden. With the identification of my negative state comes the personal healing as the weeds are pulled. With the weeds pulled I can now look on the spiritual garden that is me and understand what the purpose of the garden is.

There are many types of gardens. These include the gardens for reflection, healing, sustenance, beauty, and for wild things. In my case I am of the sustenance variety. The purpose of a sustenance garden is to provide the resources to maintain the life that enters, visits or dwells in this garden. This is the charge that I have been given at this time. It is a worthy task that in a weeded state cannot be appreciated by the gardener.

The words that come to me is to be as the sacred oak and be in the state of reception and not worry about the amount of sun light nor the amount of rain water that falls. Remain transfixed on spirit and remain in the state of being and be that garden were people come to seek their sustenance. Be thankful that all that come to this garden get exactly what they need at the time that they need it. Remain in the state of Divine joy and take action through the Divine.

Look at the spiritual garden that is you and take the time during this full moon in Leo to weed and plow for the growth that is sure to come. Reflect on your personal state and take the action that your connection to spirit suggests.

Thank you Divine Mother for showing me that this moon phase can also be applied to our own spiritual growth. Thank you for the mercy and love that has been shown to me as I continue to work on my spiritual state and love for all that is around me.

This is to my brothers of spirit, my tribe, that have the hounds on their heels and feel that they are faulting in step. I myself had these very hounds set out onto me that I myself did falter. The hounds that I take about are that of the shadow beasts called depression. As we run the run of life we get bombarded by the thousands of different message bits that stream at us like spring runoff. Hitting us and then moving away the same way that water hits a rock in the river. The only thing that is different with us is that we are trying to control the river and how it hits the rock. This in itself is impossible yet this is the case when the hounds of depression are at our heels. Life events are flowing around us like a soft stream or a torrent river depending if things are going well or if we are over burdened by trying to stop the water. In my case the depression came from trying to control all of my life events and failing to control anything. This frustration came into me and triggered the ego fear response which started the two year slide into the hole of depression that I put myself into. That hole was dark and very small.

The hounds look different to each person, but the hounds are there none-the-less. In some cases the hounds are coming from what seems to be an irresolvable situation where work is horrid and the home life is equally so. Sometimes it comes from physical, mental, exhaustion coupled with a pinched spiritual life as was my case.

I have a theory that many forms of depression happen because we turn away from our spiritual dedications and live in the psychotic world of the ego. This takes on many forms, but the form that I want to talk about is the division or separation from the “me from the myself.” This division or attempting to divide comes from the lack of spiritual grounding. In the absence of spirit the ego moves in to separate and divide what cannot be divided. Once the ego works its destructive magic the spirit is fully suppressed and anxiety, fear, helplessness, and despair follow. Of course these feelings come about when the object of the stress is before us. An example of this would that if you are feeling anxiety about work or home then that is where the greatest stress is located. The anxiety is a self-induced panic that is coming from the perception that the situation that is causing the stress is not going away. The truth is that the situation and its stress only exist in the mind. It is the mind that has placed the label of stress and only the mind that keeps holding onto that label. As with the Law of Attraction, ‘Like attracts like’ the more that we worry the more worry that bring into our lives. It is the same with the positive emotions as love attracts love.

The way out of this is too simple in principle yet seems impossible when the hounds are on your heels. Stop and drop the stress. As most of my readers follow an Earth Path, I would suggest walking barefoot on the Divine Mother. Allow the negative charges that are surging throughout your body be grounded out through your feet. As a Piscean I understand the joys and the grounding ability that Divine Mother has when I walk barefoot. Another way of grounding out is to take a bath in sea salt or even shower with sea salt. The salt also pulls the negative charged ions off of you instantly making you feel better.

Meditation or some other type of spiritual dedication is critical for the well being of all people. This reconnects you with source and allows the divine love to flow into your being like your arm that has fallen asleep so you move it and the blood flows in to wake up the arm.

Just as Black Elk, an Oglala Sioux Holy Man stated, “The first peace, which is the most important, is that which comes within the souls of people when they realize their relationship, their oneness with the universe and all its powers, and when they realize at the center of the universe dwells the Great Spirit, and that its center is really everywhere, it is within each of us.”

Brothers, take heart and take heed to these words. Look at your lives and cut away what has no purpose and only keep what brings happiness and is useful. Strive for the balance and the grounding that nature shows us every day. Unplug from the insanity that is displayed on the television and across the internet. Find a quite place and embrace your spiritual heritage. As Black Elk said, “perhaps you have noticed that even in the slightest breeze you can hear the voice of the cottonwood tree; this we understand is its prayer to the Great Spirit, for not only men, but all things and all beings pray to Him continually in different ways.”

I close in prayer.

Divine Father I thank you for having me type these words. You have blessed your Children with all manner of gifts. We humbly look to you for guidance and love as we continue through our day.

Divine Mother I thank you for the haven of this material world where we gain our substance and subsistence.

Blessings to all of you my Brothers and Sisters may this message reach you and impart its wisdom to you.

(7) Jesus said, “Blessed is the lion which becomes man when consumed by man; and cursed is the man whom the lion consumes, and the lion becomes man.”

The lion is known for its reputation as a hunter. The lion that Jesus is talking about is not the big cat that comes readily to mind. The lion here is representing the negative emotions that all people have. These emotions stalk us in the back of our minds waiting to pounce and tear our emotional state apart. In this case Jesus is telling us to hunt and consume the lions of negative emotion for the vanquishing of those emotions allows us to come into a state of peace.

When the negative emotions take us over we act like beasts and we lose our higher spiritual connection and we become rooted in the negativity. Just as a lion will hunt its prey, so will a person consumed by negative emotions. This can be seen all around us today.

(8) And he said, “The man is like a wise fisherman who cast his net into the sea and drew it up from the sea full of small fish. Among them the wise fisherman found a fine large fish. He threw all the small fish back into the sea and chose the large fish without difficulty. Whoever has ears to hear, let him hear.”

Perform the action and take the just reward.

(9) Jesus said, “Now the sower went out, took a handful (of seeds), and scattered them. Some fell on the road; the birds came and gathered them up. Others fell on the rock, did not take root in the soil, and did not produce ears. And others fell on thorns; they choked the seed(s) and worms ate them. And others fell on the good soil and it produced good fruit: it bore sixty per measure and a hundred and twenty per measure.”

Little effort placed in a proper environment yields tremendous results. This is a great lesson in today’s world as we move about casting seeds hoping for these ideas and efforts to fall on fertile ground to produce a bounty.

(10) Jesus said, “I have cast fire upon the world, and see, I am guarding it until it blazes.”

The fire is knowledge of spirit. This fire is being guarded until enough people can understand that knowledge. Once the knowledge is understood it will be coving the whole world in a blaze.

(11) Jesus said, “This heaven will pass away, and the one above it will pass away. The dead are not alive, and the living will not die. In the days when you consumed what is dead, you made it what is alive. When you come to dwell in the light, what will you do? On the day when you were one you became two. But when you become two, what will you do?”

In this passage Jesus is telling us about the end of our delusional state. The ones that are stuck in the material world will die, but the spiritual awakened understand that there is no death. At one time we ate what was dead and by eating it the dead became alive within us.

When you come to dwell in the light, what will you do? When we come back to spirit and live in the light our understanding of what we are and our place in creation will shift.

On the day when you were one you became two. But when you become two, what will you do?” Jesus us telling us that we were all one. Then at some point we embraced duality and became two.

(12) The disciples said to Jesus, “We know that you will depart from us. Who is to be our leader?”
Jesus said to them, “Wherever you are, you are to go to James the righteous, for whose sake heaven and earth came into being.”

James the Righteous was a dedicated holy man. James spent his days in prayer to God asking for his mercies to be spilt on the Earth.

(13) Jesus said to his disciples, “Compare me to someone and tell me whom I am like.”
Simon Peter said to him, “You are like a righteous angel.”
Matthew said to him, “You are like a wise philosopher.”
Thomas said to him, “Master, my mouth is wholly incapable of saying whom you are like.”
Jesus said, “I am not your master. Because you have drunk, you have become intoxicated from the bubbling spring which I have measured out.”
And he took him and withdrew and told him three things. When Thomas returned to his companions, they asked him, “What did Jesus say to you?”
Thomas said to them, “If I tell you one of the things which he told me, you will pick up stones and throw them at me; a fire will come out of the stones and burn you up.”

Jesus is telling us that the disciples are drunk on the knowledge and presence of Jesus. They are overwhelmed by the self realized person standing in front of them. Thomas could not say what Jesus was like for there were no words that can describe the presence of Master Jesus.

(1)   And he said, “Whoever finds the interpretation of these sayings will not experience death.”

The ones that find this interpretation and understand the words within will be shown that there is no death for the eternal spirit. As the body may die and decay the spirit that is our consciousness and the vehicle for bodily animation will never parish.

(2)   Jesus said, “Let him who seeks continue seeking until he finds. When he finds, he will become troubled. When he becomes troubled, he will be astonished, and he will rule over the All.”

This verse is directed to the spiritual seeker. The one that is walking up from that deep sleep that most of the world is in and looks about and decides that there must be something more to life. These are also the people that are missing something and they start their quest to find what is missing.

“Seek until he finds. When he finds, he will become troubled.” As the seeker tracks down that spark that is missing they become troubled when they find what they are looking for is a connection to the Eternal Father. In many occasions this is troubling as old belief systems are removed and truth based beliefs are set into their place. Truth based beliefs are beliefs founded in the truth of spirit and not the illusion of the material. Materialism does not make you happy, happiness comes from within which is grounded in a spirit dedicated to the spirit.

“When he becomes troubled, he will be astonished…” Astonishment comes from the realization that there is no death and that all material based outlooks are illusion. “..and he will rule over the All.” Salvation of the spirit has occurred and they have moved from material mind to enlightenment (God mind), to God realization which is the understanding that we are Children of the Creator.

(3)   Jesus said, “If those who lead you say to you, ‘See, the kingdom is in the sky,’ then the birds of the sky will precede you. If they say to you, ‘It is in the sea,’ then the fish will precede you. Rather, the kingdom is inside of you, and it is outside of you. When you come to know yourselves, then you will become known, and you will realize that it is you who are the sons of the living father. But if you will not know yourselves, you dwell in poverty and it is you who are that poverty.”

This is a very powerful statement that tells us that the path to eternity is by knowing what we are. This is not to say that I have a name and occupation, but to know that all of us are eternal spirit. They only way to reach this state of self knowing is through continual meditation on the presence of the Creator. Through this continual meditation all those engage in this come to the understanding that creation flows from their spirit, which is from the inside to the outside. A self realized soul knows the true meaning of ‘I AM’ and with this knowing the realization that they are the smaller version of the Living Father.

The last sentence of, “But if you will not know yourselves, you dwell in poverty and it is you who are that poverty.” Is showing us that when you do not understand the ‘I AM’ we live in that state of mind that is poverty. Having no money is not poverty. Having no money is being poor. Poverty pushes people into acceptance and hopelessness for they feel that they can never rise above the circumstance that they are in. This is where Jesus’ words of you dwell in poverty and it is you that are that poverty show us that poverty is a state of mind.

(4)   Jesus said, “The man old in days will not hesitate to ask a small child seven days old about the place of life, and he will live. For many who are first will become last, and they will become one and the same.”

On many occasions Jesus is talking about how we are like children. Without the Father we can do nothing. Just like the baby in the above passage we are totally dependent on our parents for love, nourishment, and to protect us from harm. As we age we look more to that child and see that we are similar in many ways. The old become dependent on the younger as their bodies age and they are not able to do the most common of things without difficulty. This passage is also telling us that we are like this on our spiritual journey. Being completely depended on the Father for everything for without the Father we are not.

Those that are first in life might become last in spiritual development if they are holding onto beliefs that are not fostering a healthy spiritual growth until old age sets in and the body starts to fail. In death the spirit is released and we become one with the All.

(5)   Jesus said, “Recognize what is in your sight, and that which is hidden from you will become plain to you. For there is nothing hidden which will not become manifest.”

Spirit is the common object that is hidden from our sight. As we focus on spirit, spirit comes into our sight and is all that we see. Once we tune to spirit all spiritual things come into manifest.

(6)   His disciples questioned him and said to him, “Do you want us to fast? How shall we pray? Shall we give alms? What diet shall we observe?”
Jesus said, “Do not tell lies, and do not do what you hate, for all things are plain in the sight of heaven. For nothing hidden will not become manifest, and nothing covered will remain without being uncovered.”

I would like to point out that Jesus does not answer the questions of the disciples. Instead he points out a course of action that is simple and to the point.
